Industry accolades for four campus companies
Sci-Tech Daresbury companies enjoyed a very successful night at the seventh annual Chemicals Northwest Awards dinner at the Crowne Plaza hotel, Pier Head, Liverpool.
Sci-Tech Daresbury companies enjoyed a very successful night at the seventh annual Chemicals Northwest Awards dinner at the Crowne Plaza hotel, Pier Head, Liverpool.
Four companies were shortlisted with two of them winning their categories.
The Awards were open to Chemicals Northwest members and non-member organisations and a record numbers of entries were received.
Peak 42, process control, SCADA and automation specialists for the utilities, pharmaceuticals, food and drink and chemicals industries were awarded the top accolade in the Sustainability Award while also being highly commended in the Engineering Supplier to the Chemical Industry.
BPE Design & Support, one of the country’s leading chemical and biochemical engineering design firms, won the Health and Safety Award for a design methodology that has the potential to help secure dramatic reduction in the risk of dust explosions in manufacturing centres and laboratories across the world.
Meanwhile, R&D-led Arcis Biotechnology, the nucleic acid sample preparation solution provider, was shortlisted for the Innovation Award and X-Cellr8, providers of completely cruelty-free testing solutions for the cosmetics industry were shortlisted in two categories, Health and Safety and Supply Chains respectively.

Sci-Tech Daresbury, located close to both Manchester and Liverpool, is internationally known for the quality of its work and is home to scientists and engineers from across the academic research community as well as private industry. Areas of study include accelerator science, bio-medicine, physics, chemistry, materials, engineering and computational science, as researchers explore new areas of science and new technologies – and facilities stretch from a VR/AR lab to a particle accelerator.
